The "FOUNDATION Fieldbus" is a fieldbus standard oriented primarily on the requirements of process automation. It is the most functionally complete fieldbus solution for this area of application. In addition to pure communications services, other services are supported as well:
- Network and system management
- Standardized function blocks
- Comprehensive device description language
The specification "High Speed Ethernet" (HSE) adds an Ethernet-based protocol to the "FOUNDATION Fieldbus" which is harmoniously integrated in the overall architecture.
As a complement to the product FG-100 FF Linking Device, a standardized Ethernet gateway, Softing can offer protocol implementations on custom devices.
