eWON 4101 is the Advanced Industrial Internet Router for the machine builder OEM, infrastructure, utilities, and system integrator markets, offering full Internet access to any PLC or automation device through serial or Ethernet port. Seamlessly integrated with the PLC programming environment, eWON 4101 still monitors and collects data into internal tags while PLC maintenance is performed. eWON 4101 has both Web and FTP servers embedded as well as an independent alarm management system, data logging and Web synoptic capabilities.

Using VPN technology, it is now possible to establish a secure, encrypted, bi-directional tunnel through the Internet between any Internet-connected PC and a remote eWON-connected device.

By the use of a mobile phone operator's GPRS/EDGE network, eWON users benefit from a faster connection speed than traditional GSM-Data. With the improved quality and reliability of digital data-transfer, it makes remote maintenance of mobile or inaccessible applications just as convenient as through common landlines.

Save costs on long distance calls for support, control or maintenance on your remote equipment. Let eWON 'call you back' through a local dial-up Internet-connection and establish a secured VPN connection back to your site! Once the tunnel is established, your programming software accesses the device transparently, as if it were in the same room, and without interruption to live data acquisition or alarm management.

Make accurate diagnostics with first hand information directly from the PLC, operate the equipment using eWON's own web browser interface, avoid unnecessary journeys and be better prepared for necessary site visits.
It is now possible to create your own 'Application Private Network' using eWON units i.e. use a standard mobile-phone GPRS/EDGE network to securely link all of your remote sites and your central monitoring station on the same 'virtual cable', for data-acquisition, remote monitoring and alarm notification purposes.

Thanks to its wide protocols and I/O server library, eWON can monitor local Ethernet or serial devices, acquiring data, publishing it as Modbus TCP or SNMP values and send alarm notifications by e-mail or SMS when required. Acting locally as a remote gateway, eWON allows the operator to immediately perform necessary service interventions on remote equipment.
